  SSTD completes Farm to Market Road

SSTD has successfully completed a project’ Farm to Market Road’ in union council Thana Khas of Malakand (P). The project of reconstruction of Zormandai Road  was carried out with the collaboration of ILO. The road is a vital part of community infrastructure as it allows farmers to transport their yields from farms to market, and earn their livelihood.  The same road is used by tractors for trucking stones and sands from the river.
Total length of the road constructed is 442 meter long and 5.5 meter wide. The work was carried out by 98 unskilled and 8 skilledworkers. It is worth mentioning here that during the construction of the road, the locals had an opportunity to work and eke out their livings.

ILO and SSTD have done extensive work together in past few years. From imparting skill trainings in various trades under title of Community Based Livelihood Recovery Projects (CBLRP) to rehabilitation and restoration of community infrastructure and providing short term employment opportunities in affected areas.

  Distribution of food in lower Dir

SSTD, with the collaboration of WFP, is presently running a ‘School Feeding Program’ (SFP) in Lower Dir of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Under the project, a total of 421 schools in different UCs of the target area are being entertained. SSTD is offering the target community vegetable oil and High energy biscuits. The program has been successful so far while ensuring maximum number of enrollment of children in the marked region of Lower Dir. 
It is pertinent to mention here that total number of beneficiaries is 86888 including 39125 girls students from 149 girl’s schools located in the area.

  SSTD has started distribution with the assistance of UNOCHA

PESHAWAR:  Society for Skills, Trainings and Development (SSTD) has started distribution with the assistance of UNOCHA of non-food items among the internally displaced people of Mohmand Agency said a statement issued here on Friday.
The non-eatable items provided by UNOCHA will be distributed among the 1750 war-affected families in the area of Kuz and Bar sagai, the release added. SSTD with the collaboration of UNOCHA has been playing a highly laudable role to facilitate and rehabilitate the affected communities in different part of the country. And UNOCHA will be on the side of the target community till they are rehabilitated and back to their homes.
In addition, SSTD has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UNOCHA, aimed at alleviating the suffering of poor people in Mohmand, Sahibzada Ahmad said.
